Fellowship of the Ring
Really good!
“All we have to decide is what to with the time that is given to us” – J.R.R. Tolkien Having read the book and seen the movie, I can safely say that something is lost in the translation! You could say the book was butchered but these things happen when you aim for a blockbuster movie. Now to the book! I absolutely loved it. The descriptions of the scenery is what made this trilogy stand out in the first place. I absolutely give it 5/5 stars even though at some parts, due to the descriptions it gets kind of hectic for some. I am looking forward to reading The Two Towers and The return of the King! The epilogues could not exist and I'd be fine with it. It was nice to get closure on some of the stories but others were a tad too much.

Eloise is just the funniest. And all the banter and inside jokes with her family and especially her brothers really got to me! I was laughing for at least half the book!

I'm so glad I decided to stick to the books! The second one was miles better than the first one! I laughed out loud in more than one occasion. So good! I highly recommend it especially now that we have the second season of the Bridgerton series to look forward to!

It was okay
A good book considering its genre but I enjoyed the Netflix series much more. You have to read it though because they are many differences between the tv series and the book. Characters are added and others are overlooked. I recommend it, especially if you want to read the second book which I highly recommend that you do.

A Conjuring of Light
One of the best books I've read
I am not okay. This book ruined me. I am so glad I decided to pick it up though. I was disappointed with a gathering of Shadows and did not expect this one to be any good either. I've never been happier about being wrong. This was a true masterpiece. I've been reading all day and I ended up finishing at 3am. It was so worth it. I've no words other than that Schwab is a true artist.

Amazing
I'm really sad this trilogy has come to an end. But I'm glad that it came to an end with a beautiful book like this one. I was at the edge of my seat for the duration of Finale and I'm so happy with how everything turned out. From the relationship between Scarlett and Tella to their love interests and who they actually ended up with. I was misty-eyed by the time I reached the end. If I have to say something about Garber, is that she sure knows how to write. This trilogy was a true page-turner through and through. I am sad to see the end of this story but I'm guessing we might see a next-generation sequel or maybe a novella soon enough.

I feel like I'm super generous, giving this book 6 stars. I was really looking forward to this since the first chapters leaked more than 10 years ago. But I guess that was teenage me. Adult me, is not really impressed with either Meyer's writing nor the way she chose to use Edward's mind reading power. I wish she could focus more on Edward's inner thought and not on Jessica's, Mike's and the Cullens. Unfortunately, the scenes were the focus was on Edward, he made him react and have thoughts that a 16-year-old would have. This pov really needed a fresh touch but that's clearly missing. This is now the third time I'm reading a different version of the same story. If you really think about it, minor changes occur between Twilight, Life & Death and Midnight Sun.

Okay this was a lot like Harry Potter in many ways. Like the trio of protagonists, a boy and girl helping the main character. And also the quest and the unknown universe. But overall I really liked it an can't wait to read the rest!

Hands down my favorite comedy of Shakespeare! Where to begin from? The lovers, the fairies, the play within a play? Midsummer's Night Dream is an amazing and magical play! I also recommend the movie adaptation..it is worth watching!

An amazing first book to kick start the series. I really enjoyed this one. At first I was afraid, having seen the show, that there wouldn't be something to keep my interest but I was wrong. I was baiting my nails until the last chapter and I almost immediately started reading A clash of kings!

Ok, clearly the most action filled book of the series. The second time around, I knew what to look for and to track the actions of the characters more closely. Again, it was heart wrenching but I understand that every has a purpose! I hope you enjoy this as much as I did! Happy readings to all ☺

Loved it!
The banter between the characters reminds me of Pride and Prejudice from Jane Austen and the way of writing captivated my interest, I couldn't put it down! I must have read it in the span of two days! I absolutely recommend this book and also the BBC series..try reading along with the mini series and the experience will be gratifying.

I read this book in two days searching for something that had potential but honestly I think that it still needs work. It was ok, ergo the 5/10 stars but something was missing. In the Divergent series the reader had a feeling more or less of what was going to happen and had a special bond with the characters; a bond that is non-existent in this novel. I recommend for fun reading but don't get your hopes up, this is not Divergent!

Perfect
"All grown-ups were once children... but only few of them remember it." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery A part of our childhood still lives in the innocence of this book. We are all children in adults bodies. Probably, you have your own take on the book but lets be frank ,that's the magic about it. The book won't even take you a whole day to read. Consider honoring the Little You that still remains within you. I personally loved this book when I was child and I still love it to this day. It's amazing how differently I looked at the book as an 11 year old to the adult who I am today. Enjoy & Happy Readings!

Expected more
"The way to heaven out of all places is of length and distance." This book by Thomas More should be read this CAUTION! OK. Don't get me wrong. I am sure for its time it was an innovation and all together signified something great but today it doesn't offer much. It is a conversation between two friends. One is describing the New World aka America and the dreams and opportunities that the new place is offering to people. Other than this it doesn't offer much. Descriptions and ideals are there but there is nothing to even prompt you to imagine the new utopian world that the characters are discussing about. I read this last summer when I was 22 and I still can't seem t shake off the bad impression it left me. However, I have to say - being an English Literature student that maybe it is addressed to a more mature audience. I believe that I simply don't have at this pint in my life what it takes in reader to understand the significance of what is said here. I will definitely read it again in five years. I just want to find out if I will be able to handle it then. Have you read this?Did you like it? Enjoy and Happy reading!

Okay story
OK. To those who are going to hate me, I am going to say...keep in mind I rated this book 6/10. So lets get to it. The three books of the original trilogy should and could have been only one. There was really no sense to just stop the books in the chapters that she did, I get that there was suspense for the readers but not enough as a cliffhanger in order to make me buy the next two books (even though I did because I don't like leaving anything unfinished). I could tell from the beginning that it was going to be a slow burn book but talk about SLOOOOW! There was something missing from the plot and that was action and love. The love plot was so weak, probably due to the fact that the reader knew that the main characters are bound to end up together no matter what and that is what pushed Cass to write more details about the other characters as well, detail that we do not need. I would much prefer if we had a more established love story and lacked some details about the parents and ancestors of the main characters than this. All in all, it was a good read to pass the time but due to the reasons above I cannot see my self reading it again..Sorryyy 6/10 is a very generous rating for what I had to deal with and if I could rate 5.5/10 I would feel so much better. "People generally see what they look for, and hear what they listen for.” This is one of those boo that you know are worth your time. I have heard so many thing and read numerous reviews about this one but the truth is that unless you read it for yourself you will never be able to understand. Lee manages to present the harsh reality of the American South through the innocent eyes of an 8 year old girl. This is what makes it unique and in a way, more realistic to the reader. I think there's just one kind of folks. Folks. The discrimination that we still see today around us is unfathomable to a child, No one is different in their mind. People are just people. There is no color that can make them think otherwise. The author, presents the world through the eyes of Scout in the hope that people would stop seeing color as a mean to discriminate but as a chance to unite. This novel, spoke to my heart. It made me cry at the innocence of the younger characters, who at the end of the day are the true heroes of this story. Not because they did something heroic but because they chose to see the world around them as it is, without categorizing people based on their riches, ancestors, or looks. They children are the fairest of judges and they manage to see what adults often fail to. Enjoy and Happy Reading!

Lord of the Flies

I am going to be honest with you guys. I only read this book because I had to for a class in college. I didn't think much of it at first but as I was reading and we were discussing it in class I was amazed by the allegory created by the author. As a Greek student I had to read Plato in school and we covered The Republic, which is an allegorical book. That said, I wasn't impressed at first that a British novel was so popular because it was an allegory. Boy was I wrong. The metaphor of the characters that are children but are acting like adults in authoritative positions and the allegory of their world being turned upside down is just astonishing. Who would have thought to create a story about shipwrecked children on an abandoned island. It is brilliant! Each character represents a different type of citizen in a normal society. There is always a leader, a thief, a victim...and all are depicted in this novel. I think that this story is worth a full 5/5 stars. Everyone should read it and contemplate upon it. You need to think what you would have done if you ever found yourself in that position and ultimately judge your one person. What do you believe your character is worth of and then you will be able to determine if you are a true a fair leader like Ralph, an oppressor like Jack or judge a peaceful but tragic watcher as Piggy. Moral of this review. You should give books a chance even if you HAVE to read them for a grade. Because in the end you don't know where you will find hidden treasures like this. Great read!
I haven't been this excited for a book in a long time! This was refreshing. It has of course the same elements like every YA book but with a twist. Everything is unconventional; Karou, the protagonist, has blue hair and tattoos and comes from an unknown world, raised by peculiar creatures. Until everything changes and the world as she knows it becomes something different once Akiva appears. I am not gonna say anything else about the plot, other than the fact that those two are COUPLE GOALS! I cannot wait to get my hands on the second book of the trilogy because the author let us hanging with a cliffhanger at the end. I want to know more, to discover what is going to happen. How Karou is going to save the ones she loves and have a relationship with Akiva. I was impressed by the author's ability to describe the peculiar creatures she created and the way the become alive through the drawings that Karou is depicted sketching. I recommend this book if you liked books like Twilight, Hunger Games and Narnia. This book for falls under a common category that derives from these three books while taking the best components from each one. The love story of Twilight- with more depth, the angst of Hunger Games and the need for survival in a world that is changing, and the fantastical element from Narnia- creatures that are foreign to the contemporary readers take form thought the author's magical writing style! Amazing dystopia
If you like dystopian novels and you like literature, you are going to love this book! We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real? It is the worst nightmare for a book enthusiast but has a unique way of introducing the lost notion of books since the aim of the characters is to destroy every single copy left. You should give this one a chance! Bradbury sets the tone for what is to come through the dysfunctional future presented. You will get scared while reading the descriptions of the future but maybe it will get you thinking as well. By now you know that I am always seeking out books that make you wonder about life. That are always have you questioning your whereabouts, future, everyday life etc. This is one of those book, if not the first in the list. I know you are fed up with all the YA dystopian novels of the last decade, some you loved and some you hated, but this one should be a category on its own. I strongly recommend this but you have been warned…the feelings will get real, really fast because it is a story that can come true in the near future. And that gets you to wonder, if we burn all the books, what will we burn next? Enjoy and Happy Reading!

Not a great read.
Somethings are never easy. Like reading a book because it got great reviews but then turn out to be mediocre. That is what happened with Don Delillo's Cosmopolis. The entire book describes a day in the life or Eric, an 28-year-old billionaire, who is cynic and has his mind on two things; sex and money. I can understand why it was a big deal when it was published and why it was adapted into a movie but I failed to see the point. We are materialistic and consumed by technology. Our lives evolve around our career and we fail to see anything that matters like love. OK. Anyone could see these simple messages but I wanted something more. Then again that was the writers intention.to just get your gears spinning. I will say though that even though it can become rather dull, towards the end I was intrigued. I did not know what was going to happen and I can say that the most interesting thing about the book is the cliffhanger at the end. So for those that love cliffhangers, like me, and are left thinking what might happen, my advice is read this book. You will get past the tenacious and cynic writing just because you know you are going to be rewarded in the last chapter. For me Cosmopolis is worth 6/10 stars. Enjoy and Happy Reading!

Loved it!
The world was to me a secret which I desired to devine. I was literally afraid at first to read this book..you know…Frankenstein’s monster and all. But I have to admit I got more that I bargained for. I had the impression that it was going to be a mystery / thriller novel with instructions on how to create a monster… JUST KIDDING! However, I was surprised by the style of Shelley’s writing in a positive way. Even though the book is considered a classic it was easy to ready and had a fairly linear flow. I very much enjoyed it because I got to find out on my own, based on my judgement, who the real monster was. It like the everlasting debate of villains in books, were really bad or just misunderstood? I come across characters that fit both the category of the hero and of the villain many times in the past; Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter, Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights, and Jamie Lannister in Game of Thrones. Similarly , I believe that the monster with the yellow eyes doesn’t exactly fit one category or the other. He is just in the gray area in between and just tries to survive the world that he was brought in with only one request from his creator; love. It is in the name of love that he acts as he does, of course, this does not excuse him but we – as readers – can see his point of view and feel his desperation. I recommend this book with no doubt. It will get you thinking, doubting and wondering. What would you do in the name of science and love.? And up to which point can actions be justified because of your sacred cause? This must be the best book of the mortal instruments for sure. Great action and plot! I loved how she tied in the Infernal Devices trilogy ☺ I'm glad I read this after TID as many things would have ruined it for me in this book! Now onto the next Shadowhunter book

Potterhead
I"It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live" J. K. Rowling A major part of my childhood is filled with Harry Potter. It was one of the first books I read and the first movie I saw in the cinema. I decided t re-read the series as an adult now and the little details that Rowling has hidden in there foreshadow the events of Deathly Hallows. After all, as Rowling said herself "Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic". It is amazing how she has tailored the story and laid out a 7 year plan for the characters that ultimately pans out. I was amazed as a kid and I am still amazed today as an adult. I am sure that for all Potterheads out there, great memories come to mind when reading Harry Potter. And I think it will ignite happy as well as melancholic memories. Always. Enjoy and Happy Reading!

Honestly, it was a good ending for a series such as this. It had a lot of action and more battles than I could hope for, but the multiple point of vies, such as from Iris' pov where a bit redundant. Overall, I enjoyed the beginning since it picked up right after King's Cage but it dragged on for no apparent reason. The plot could be more straight forward with less politics in the middle. I'm kind of sad that I won't actually find out what happened with Cal and Mare. A novella would be nice in order to get some closure!

S. If you don't like reading plays or screenplays then maybe this one is not for you

My favorite book from the classics
** spoiler alert ** One of the classics indeed! I read this book every Christmas and it is one of my favorites! I like the fact that the characters are complex and that there is a dilemma over Heathclliff's character. Do you think he is a misunderstood character as well? I personally love his character in all his complexity! And let us not forget about the description of the moors and mountains in the book that help you travel alongside the characters. All in all, it might be one of the classics and many of you had to read it at school but as adults it really is worth re-reading in the light of adulthood. I t can really put things in perspective for you. I recommend it one hundred percent and I encourage you to take sides; some side with Catherine or Heathcliff. However, all in all, it comes down to the issue of unfulfilled love and the consequences that our actions have in the lives of others.

Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck
Great read!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review and boy was I baffled with what I read. I was expecting a purely self-improvement book with basically the dos and donts in problem handling and solving. Instead, I got a book full of personal real experiences that actually made me laugh out loud one too many times. Mark Manson is the person next door, with experiences on his own. He presents an instance in his life which shaped him and how this became food for this book. His personal examples really made me see myself in him and mirror those circumstances in instances that I have found myself in through the years. I would recommend reading it asap. And if you feel like you don’t need any self-improvement then I’m with you, but I guarantee you are at least going to laugh while reading this one!

Since the series is so true to the books I knew that some parts like the first 1/3 when they are in France wouldn't be my Fav but knowing the thing that would go down actually kept me going. I give ye my Spirit, ’til our Life shall be Done.” Gabaldon sure knows what she is talking about while describing Claire’s and Jamie’s adventures in 18th century Scotland! She manages to deliver action, angst and romance all in one! I don’t know about you but I will certainly read the whole series! Lets talk about the major highlight of the book..Jamie Fraser! Ok I am sure that everybody is going to swoon as soon as they read about him! He is the perfect foil for Claire’s first husband, Frank, and lets face it every woman’s dream. “Ye need not be scairt of me,” he said softly. “Nor of anyone here, so long as I’m with ye.” As I said..SWOON!!!! In general, I can say that all characters are well developed from Clair and Jamie to Mrs. Fitz and Argus. Overall, the novel offers a unique journey to 18th century Scotland and makes you fall in love not only with the highlands but also with the Highlanders! I definitely recommend this one! Really great!
This took me two weeks to read because you know...life BUT it was totally worth it! The characters, plot, plot twists and conspiracies in this book are out of this world. The social system described makes my skin crawl but that's how you know the writer has made it that real and that you immersed yourself into the fictional universe of the book as a reader. I really enjoyed it and I can't wait to get started on Thunderhead!

I did not expect this to be so good!
Miller sure does have a way with words. I did not expect to like a book with so little dialogue in it but I was amazed by it. I'm a sucker for mythology and seeing all these myths interwoven was amazing. There where some twists I didn't expect and I was actually surprised in a good way by this book. I highly recommend it especially if you are into Greek mythology and you like tales.

** spoiler alert ** I've only watched the movies and I really liked the fandom but I didn't expect to like the book so much! Collins has a beautiful writing style. Even though we mostly get description of Katniss' time at the arena it never gets boring. I like how her relationship with Peeta was described and her inner conflict throughout the games. I already have Catching Fire in my hands and I'm ready to dive in.

Best read in the series!
The perfect ending to a really complicated story. I'm so happy that everyone got what they deserved. I am grateful that SJM actually took into consideration her readership and that all this agony, angst and heart break was worth something. I am sad that this is the last book of the series. I hope that in some form, either in a novella or some future chapters, we will get to see glimpses of Aelin and Rowan's life. 986 pages weren't enough. I don't think I would be content any other way though. A journey ends and another begins. I was happy to be a part of this, and to continue living in this fantastic world that SJM created for us. Thank you.

** spoiler alert ** No words. Even though it's the least favorite of mine from the series, it still was a really good read. It had everything from diverse characters to full on romance. Maas continues to surprise us each time. I mean you think you know what's going on and then boom, plot twist and suddenly everything is upside down! I really wanted Chaol and Yrene together and I'm so glad that the author gave us this couple! I do wish that this was kept shorter and as a novella though. I feel like this was a plot in order for the publishing house and Maas to buy time until KOA comes out. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it emensly even though it took me two months of periodically reading in order to finish it! And just in time for Kingdom of Ash!

Umm, I don't know if I am ready for this review, as I have just finished the book BUT I have to say that SJM has ruined me! I was at the edge of my seat during the second half of the book and there was nothing I could do than read! And that ending.. I CAN'T EVEN! Is she trying to kill us from the anxiety and the angst?! Thank God I have Tower of Dawn right here next to me and I'm going to start reading it right away. This was by far the best book of the series! It had everything I wanted and more!

Even though I love Sarah J Maas and her writing style, I feel like this should be included in the first book. Don't get me wrong I liked the book and I absolutely love the plot and characters as they evolve but I just feel like this didn't need to be a separate book from Throne of Glass. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it immensely and it gave me the boost I needed to continue reading the series. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Happy readings to all!

Ummm what? You can't end a book like that?! I didn't expect to like this as much as the infernal devices books but it was actually worth the fuss. The first half of the book was more introductory to the whole shadowhunter universe, so it's perfect for those who want to read the trilogy as a standalone series. The second half is where the action picked up and at some points I was even at the edge of my seat, filled with angst, over what was going to happen next. The ending was brutal for me as I had just started to get accustomed to the idea of Julian and Emma together. I'm so glad I have Lord of Shadows ready by my side or else I wouldn't be able to cope right now.

Wish it was longer!
Seriously, I read this in one day and I just wanted more. Is it time for the sequel to be released yet? I mean it certainly gave us a glimpse into the post-war life of Feyre and Rhysand, I was so happy. But we also get an insight into the lives of the rest of the gang. Unfortunately, this was only a novella and it just doesn't begin to south my curiosity. I want to find out what is going to happen...like yesterday!

The best ending to an amazing trilogy. I cried, I laughed and now I have a hangover!I don't think that I will be able to start another book anytime soon. Sarah J. Maas knows what she is doing. She managed to bring so many characters in life and to present their different personalities and histories without confusing her readers. I just can't wait for A Court of Frost and Starlight, May can't come fast enough! Maybe my favorite book of the trilogy with ACOMAF coming as a close second. Enjoy, I know I did, and Happy Reading!

Even better than the first book of the series!
Um, need I say that I cried over this?! It was so emotional and I enjoyed it completely. The story wraps up in a beautiful way and at last we get the much needed closure that we were looking for. The romance was up to my standards and exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to find out more about Feyre and Rhysand's journey! Seriously, Sarah J Maas is putting herself on the literary map with this amazing YA Fantasy stories. I can't wait to read more books from her! I hope that you enjoy this trilogy as much as I did! AMAZING & ORIGINAL! If I could describe the book in two words those would be it. I always look for pieces in a book that allude to other books. In truth, at the beginning I got a Beauty and the Beast vibe laced with a bit of Hunger Games. But boy was I wrong! It has so many twists and the angst is always there making you wonder what in hell is going to happen next? The action is there, the romance is there and that is a good recipe right? Apparently NOT! Maas want to torments to no end (but of course we love it all the way) and adds a third party to the romance. I wouldn't exactly call Feyre, Tamlin and Rhysand a love triangle since nothing really happens in the first book to indicate that. But while reading ACOMAF the drama is off the charts. Amazing book, great story, constant plot twists and characters that leave you wanting more! Enjoy and Happy Reading!

Best read of 2020!
I have no words. This was one of the best books I've read in my life. It had everything I could ask for. If the book was another 800 I'd gladly read them! I am so sad it's over and I wish we had the sequel NOW! The characters and plot were so well thought out! I don't how Maas does it. How she creates these worlds that make us so invested in them. This is clearly a 5-star for me but I'd awarded another 5 if I could!

Perfect ending!
This was a great ending to great story. I have mixed feeling about this finale because I really don't know if there was a Villain to begin with. Just a misunderstood character that wanted to achieve what he thought was best. I really liked both the action and the romance and I have to say that now things are far more clear for King of Scars. Nikolai must be my favorite character along side the Darkling

his was so good! I have so many mixed felling about Alina, her powers and all the lover boys parading around her! I can't wait to read this epic finale! I'm so excited about finally getting to read this trilogy. Now King of Scars actually makes sense. I decided on a 4-star review because the beginning of the book really dragged on but over it was captivating! I now have my hopes way up for Ruin and Rising! I cannot wait to see the story of Alina will end!

So many thoughts and emotions. I dived into this story expecting another common retelling of Beauty and the Beast but boy was I wrong. Kemmerer really has a talent for storytelling and she did a great job building the story, the characters and the romance. The only thing that made me give this read four stars instead of five is the fact that the story ends in Grey's pov and not in Rhen's or Harper's. I would have liked some kind of closure even though a lot was happening during the last third of the book. Now I have to wait a WHOLE YEAR to read A Heart so Fierce and Broken!

This is my best read for 2019 by far! I'm so excited that I actually choose to read this at the last moment. I started reading Leigh Bardugo's books in an unorthodox order. First the Six of Crows Duology, then King of Scars (which I didn't really like or understand) and lastly her first trilogy Shadow and Bone. I read this book in one day. I literally couldn't put it down! It was absolutely amazing. I liked the first and ONLY pov! The plot was fast pacing and the twists just kept coming. Hands down my favorite Leigh Bardugo book so far. Sorry Kaz! You'll always be in my heart! Also, I can't wait for the Netflix tv show!
