Breathtaking
Sara J. Maas wrote another masterpiece, this time a mixture of medieval and contemporary fantasy. As soon as you read the first chapter you can't avoid it but fall in love with the characters. The world is crafted perfectly and the plot full of mystery. Can't wait for the sequel.
The book was really light for a medieval-fantasy read. However this was one of its good characteristics. The characters lovable and the ending such a plot twist!
This book is just so overrated and I can't understand what's all the hype about. The plot was good and Aveyard could really make something out of it but no. Everything moves slowly and whatever happens is so sudden you have to reread the previous pages to understand it. The characters are all ill-written, and the protagonist, Mare, seems to care only about herself. The only one that may have some potential is Evangeline. Last but not least, the book is packed with unnecessary metaphors that make it even more tiring.
If I could I would award it another 10 stars. The book was AMAZING. The romance, the environment (northern Italy during the 80s- not so bad huh?) and the characters make the reader fall in love with them. However, the best thing about it is the writing. I mean... THE WRITING! When I read the first 10 pages of it I had to stop, take a breath and try not to cry because of the awesomeness of the writing style. Please people, if you intend to watch the movie (I wouldn't judge you- I love Timothy too), PLEASE PLEASE READ THE BOOK FIRST.
Easy-read and light, the book is perfect for those who are in a reading slump or they want to read something to overcome their previous reads and start something new. Good plot and likeable characters, even though all this romance thing was unnecessary and seemed like the author was trying to fill the pages of the book. Wouldn't read the other books in the series...
Yuvan Noah Harari has written a book everyone have to read. In 500 pages he manages to explain the whole history of humankind so efficiency and yet so easy to understand that keeps you hooked for hours.
Bardugo once again did the impossible (improbable!). Even better than the previous Grisha trilogy this one is the first book in a duology that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Definitely a must-read for fantasy lovers.
I loved the book. Rick Riordan keeps getting better and funnier and the reader cannot not fall in love with the characters. Full of ancient monsters, gods and humour, I read it in one sitting.
I am rating the book with two stars just for the effort that was put into it. However, it was bad. Really bad. After having read the first one I hoped that maybe this one would be better but nope. Boring, slow, full of clichés, predictable and with no character development. I finished it only because I thought it may get better in the end but no such thing happened.
