"People generally see what they look for, and hear what they listen for.”
This is one of those boo that you know are worth your time. I have heard so many thing and read numerous reviews about this one but the truth is that unless you read it for yourself you will never be able to understand.
Lee manages to present the harsh reality of the American South through the innocent eyes of an 8 year old girl. This is what makes it unique and in a way, more realistic to the reader.
I think there's just one kind of folks. Folks.
The discrimination that we still see today around us is unfathomable to a child, No one is different in their mind. People are just people. There is no color that can make them think otherwise.
The author, presents the world through the eyes of Scout in the hope that people would stop seeing color as a mean to discriminate but as a chance to unite.
This novel, spoke to my heart. It made me cry at the innocence of the younger characters, who at the end of the day are the true heroes of this story. Not because they did something heroic but because they chose to see the world around them as it is, without categorizing people based on their riches, ancestors, or looks.
They children are the fairest of judges and they manage to see what adults often fail to.
Enjoy and Happy Reading!
